Keydets Head to Cleveland State Saturday

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI lacrosse team will take a break from conference play to travel to Cleveland State on Saturday for a 12 p.m. start at Krenzler Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
 
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
 
The Keydets (1-4, 0-3) are coming off an 18-12 loss to Jacksonville on Saturday. VMI senior Ryan Perouty earned three points on two goals and one assist. With his second point, Perouty joined VMI's prestigious 100-Point Club which only 18 former Keydets have achieved in program history. With one goal on Saturday, he will join the 70-Goal Club which only 14 former Keydets hat attained in program records.
 
Sophomores Hartley Jordan and Scout Ripley both tallied a hat trick in the game at Jacksonville. VMI freshman goalie Jack Liselli finished with 14 saves in his first career start.
 
VMI is led in goals by Ripley, who has 13 on the season. Hartley is right behind with 10 goals. Goalies Liselli, Anthony Merida, and Bill Osteen have combined for 63 saves on the season.
 
About the Vikings (1-4)
Cleveland State is coming off a 10-5 loss to Marquette on Saturday. The Vikings are led in goals by Chase Baker and Brendan Sigurdson, who have six goals apiece.
 
Goalie Kevin Sobey has registered 54 saves on the year.
