Lacrosse at Bellarmine in Tuesday Makeup Game

LEXINGTON, Va. – Coming off an exciting win over Lafayette on Saturday, the VMI lacrosse team looks to continue the momentum Tuesday when the Keydets (1-0, 0-0) travel to Bellarmine for a noon contest at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Tuesday afternoon game is a makeup from its previously scheduled date of February 27 which was postponed due to coronavirus concerns. The Keydets seeks their first ever win over the Knights as Bellarmine holds a 10-0 series advantage.

In the 13-12 win over Lafayette, sophomore Hartley Jordan and Scout Ripley each registered a hat trick while senior Jon Fant scored two goals and had two assists.

Eric Lane tallied a career-high seven groundballs and caused three turnovers to wreak havoc defensively and Tim Lindenbaum contributed to the cause with five groundball pickups and caused three turnovers.

About the Knights (1-5, 0-0)
Coming off a close 12-6 loss to No. 8 Notre Dame, the Bellarmine Knights will be back in action at home for the first time in over a month Tuesday as hosts to VMI.

Kyle Playsted and Landon Trout lead the team with eight goals apiece on the year while Job Robbins and Eric Rubak lead the Knights defensively with 14 caused turnovers apiece through six games.

JC Higginbotham will likely get the start in the circle for Bellarmine as he has logged 42 saves, including 15 at Notre Dame.
