Lacrosse Heads to Jacksonville for SoCon Tilt

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI lacrosse team will make its biennial trip to the state of Florida to take on SoCon foe Jacksonville University Saturday at noon at D.B. Milne Field.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Keydets (1-3, 0-2) are coming off a tough 20-12 loss to High Point last Friday. After taking the lead 6-4 in the first period, VMI was unable to hang on and were outscored 16-6 for the rest of the match.

Sophomore Scout Ripley leads the Keydets with 10 goals on the season, with Hartley Jordan (7), Jon Fant (6), Ryan Perouty (5), and Michael Santos (5) right behind. Eric lane leads the team with 20 groundballs.

VMI goalies Anthony Merida, Jack Liselli, and Bill Osteen have split time to earn 49 saves on the season.

Jacksonville won 16-6 against Mercer on Sunday off five goals from Jack Dolan and a hat trick from Matt Stagnitta.

Ethan Tyler scored two goals in the game to become the program's all-time career goals leader with 80.
