KEYDETS MOVE TO 4-0 - With a dramatic 38-37 come-from-behind overtime win over Samford in Birmingham last Saturday, VMI moved its record to 4-0 on the season for the first time since 1981. The Keydets also have won five consecutive games dating back to the 2019 regular season finale against Chattanooga. It marks the first time the program has achieved such a streak since VMI won the final four games of the 1976 season and the 1977 opener.

UDINSKI TAKES TOP SPOT – Junior quarterback Reece Udinski became VMI's all-time leading passer Saturday against Samford and now has 7,877 yards, surpassing Al Cobb (2014-16). Udinski now holds the all-time VMI records for passing yardage, completions, attempts, and TD passes.

VMI MOVES UP IN POLLS – One week after attaining its first ever FCS Top 25 ranking, VMI Football is ranked 14th in the Stats Perform FCS poll and 13th in the AFCA coaches poll. The Keydets moved up five spots from last week in each poll.

A VMI Win over Wofford would ...
---Move VMI to 5-0 overall for the first time since 1960.
---Give the Keydets a 3-0 road season record.

THE SERIES: This will be the 24th meeting between the two schools that first met in 1924. The Terriers lead the rivalry 13-10. VMI claimed the first nine meetings in the series before the Terriers turned the tables with wins in 13 over the next 14 matchups including a 51-36 win in Lexington in the last meeting on September 28, 2019. The Keydets are looking for their first victory in Spartanburg after dropping their first seven at Gibbs Stadium.

OT STRING CONTINUES – With a 38-37 overtime win over Samford Saturday, VMI continued its string of extra play success since the rules were adopted in the 90's. The Keydets moved to 9-4 in overtime play and have won their last three contests that have gone beyond regulation time. VMI is also 4-0 all-time in road overtime games.

HERRES HUGE AGAIN – Junior wide receiver Jakob Herres had another career day in VMI's win over Samford with a career-high 14 catches for 166 yards. The 14 catches were the second most in a game VMI history behind Aaron Sanders' 16 receptions at Mercer in 2015. Herres' two touchdown receptions also gave him 16 for his career which is four behind all-time leader Mark Stock (1984-88) and ties him with former teammate Javeon Lara (2016-19).  Herres currently has 1,904 yards receiving for his career which is 96 from the 2,000 yard plateau.

MORE REECE – Senior quarterback Reece Udinski has been responsible for 51 touchdowns in his career which is second all-time behind running back Thomas Haskins (1993-96) who had 53. Udinski has also been responsible for 308 points in his career which also is second all-time behind Haskins who had 326 during his Institute career. Udinski has ten 300-yard passing games which is one less that career leader Al Cobb (2014-16) and his 22 career 200-yard passing games moved him past Cobb to the top spot on the VMI charts.

BRIDY RAMBLES ON – Junior running back Korey Bridy posted his second consecutive 100-yard rushing game with 109 yards on 27 carries and a touchdown against Samford March 20.  One week after a career-high 91 yards against Western Carolina, Bridy topped the 100-yard rushing mark for the first time in his career with 113 yards on 27 carries against Mercer March 13 as VMI netted 212 yards rushing against the Bears for its best rushing outing as a team since 220 yards against Mars Hill on September 7, 2019. Bridy currently leads the team in rushing with 313 yards and four touchdowns.

DYNAMIC DUO ON "D" – Keydet linebackers Connor Riddle and Stone Snyder top the VMI defensive tackles charts with 39 and 34 tackles respectively, but it's in the negative yardage plays where they are both having a significant impact on VMI's defensive play this year. The pair have accounted for 13.0 of VMI's total 33 TFL's this year and 8.0 of the units 18 sacks. Through four games, Riddle has 8.5 TFL/4.0 sacks while Snyder has 4.5 TFL/4.0 sacks.
