Keydets Face High Point Friday Night

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI lacrosse team will host High Point University on Friday under the lights of Drill Field No. 2 at 7 p.m.

The Keydets (1-2, 0-1) are coming off a hard battle with nationally ranked Richmond in the season home opener. Sophomore Scout Ripley led VMI with two goals on the day, with Hartley Jordan, Jon Fant, Josh Drake, and AJ Stamos each scoring one.

Ripley leads the Keydets with six goals on the season, with Jon Fant leading in points with four goals and six assists. Goalies Anthony Merida and Jack Liselli combined for 19 saves in the game.

VMI has three cadet-athletes with double-digit groundballs on the season. Eric Lane leads with 14, Tim Lindenbaum has 12 and Trejan Cannon has totaled 11 for the year.

About the Panthers (1-4, 0-0 SoCon)
High Point is coming off a loss to No. 1 Duke last Wednesday and is receiving votes in the national polls. All four losses have come against nationally ranked opponents in Duke, North Carolina (twice), and Virginia.

Kevin Rogers and Brayden Mayea lead the Panthers with 13 goals each. Goalies Antonia Arcona, Parker Green and Beau Hecimovich have split time with 57 combined saves on the season.
