Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The VMI men's soccer team trailed by just one goal most of the game, but fell 2-0 at Wofford College Monday evening in the first round of the 2021 Southern Conference Tournament.
Jackson Wrobel put Wofford on the board at the 12:46 mark of the first half and neither team found the back of the net for the next 75 minutes.
The Keydets had a corner kick with 2:30 left on the game clock and brought everyone up to try and net the game-tying goal. The Terriers cleared the zone and Charlie Harris converted on the ensuing breakaway on a Wrobel feed.
The VMI defense played a much better game than in its last trip to Wofford, an 8-1 defeat in September. Wofford outshot VMI 13-3, but only 5-3 in shots on goal. The Terriers had a narrow 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Joshua Old made three stops for Wofford (5-10-1) to record the shutout.
