MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Despite a first-half goal from junior
Nathan Lam to tie the contest, Robert Morris defeated the VMI men's soccer team 4-1 Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play.
Bryan Akongo scored 21 minutes into the game on a double assist to put the Colonials ahead 1-0. Lam, a midfielder, posted the game-tying score at the 31:27 mark and the game remained tied at intermission.
The game stayed knotted at one until Gal Ben Dayan netted the game-winner at 66:40 and Akongo added two late insurance goals for the hat trick.

Broden Schull made three saves for VMI.
RMU (4-9) held a 15-3 edge in shots and a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.
VMI (1-14) hosts UNC-Asheville Saturday at 3 p.m. on Patchin Field in another non-conference contest. Schull will be honored in a pre-match ceremony on Senior Day.
