VMI Head Men's Soccer Coach Charlie Hubbard Resigns
LEXINGTON, Va. - VMI head men's soccer coach
Charlie Hubbard has resigned his post to accept a coaching position at another institution.
A search for a successor will begin immediately. Assistant coach/recruiting coordinator
Max Watson will step in as interim head coach until a full-time replacement is hired.
Hubbard took over the Keydets men's soccer program as head coach in 2019 after serving as an assistant and associate head coach for the three years prior.
During Hubbard's time at the Institute, VMI has had a player earn a spot on the Southern Conference All-Freshmen team in two consecutive years, the first time in program history. The men's soccer team also team earned the Colonel Don Jamison '57 Team Academic Achievement Award in May of 2017. The honor recognizes a men's team and a women's team that has distinguished itself with superior academic achievement.
