DURHAM, N.C. - A school record in the women's 4X100-meter relay led the VMI track and field teams on the final day of the Duke Invitational, which concluded Saturday in Durham, N.C.

Yaa Agyepong-Wiafe, Kerisha Goode, Bria Anderson and Mia McClain - VMI's traditional top 4X1 squad - teamed up to finish sixth in that event Saturday with a time of 46.57 seconds, over seven-tenths of a second better than the school record they set earlier in the month at George Mason.

Agyepong-Wiafe was also in action in individual competition, finishing fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.28 seconds.

The throwers got in on the action as well, as Tiffany Quick backed up a 12th-place finish in the shot put with a seasonal best in the discus (38.82 meters/127'4").

Other results on the women's side included Julia Logan finishing ninth in the high jump, as she was one of several athletes to clear 1.63 meters (5'4 1/4") and the 4X4 relay unit of Christina Hill, Brigitta Hendren, Julianne Knoblett and Logan finished 10th in 4:03.09.

On the men's side, two 12th-place finishes were the story as Greg Henderson recorded that result in the 200. He crossed the line in 21.61 seconds, while Kyle Sabourin was 12th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, timing in at 9:51.71.

"Our 4X1 relay has been great for the last year-plus, but they took it to another level today," said VMI head coach Darrin Webb. "I look forward to seeing what they, and the rest of our cadet-athletes, do this coming week at the Penn Relays."

VMI track and field returns to action Thursday, when the Keydets take part in the opening day of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa.
