LA VERNE, Calif. - Coming off a convincing victory over Caltech Tuesday night, the VMI water polo team dropped its matchup with University of La Verne by a 15-8 score Thursday afternoon in La Verne, California.
La Verne set the tone of the game early on by jumping to a 5-1 advantage after one period and extending the lead to 9-3 by the half. The Keydets picked up a little momentum in the third by outscoring the home team, 3-2, but La Verne cemented the win in the fourth by scoring four goals en route to the final tally.
The Keydets return to action Friday with a match against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 3 p.m. PDT in Claremont, California.
