Joyce Zabala enters her first season as an undergraduate assistant coach for the water polo team following a great career as a member of the squad.

2016: Recorded five shot attempts during the season, including two against Macalester, a match in which she scored her lone goal of the season on Mar. 18 … logged three assists during the year with two coming against George Washington at home on Mar. 1 … totaled four points during the season … drew two exclusions on the year, one against George Washington on Feb. 28 and the other against the Colonials on Mar. 1 … tallied six steals throughout the year, including two in the season opener against Penn St. Behrend ... Dean's List recipient for fall semester.

2015: Played in 20 games during the season … recorded eight shot attempts and logged three goals for the year … also tallied one assist for a total of four points for the season … had two shots in games against Caltech and Wagner (Apr. 11) … earned goals against Connecticut College, Caltech and St. Francis (Mar. 29) … had her assist in the St. Francis game on Mar. 29.

2014: Did not log time for the Keydets during her sophomore campaign.

2013: Capped her rookie season with 17 goals … scored a career-high three against Salem International in her second career game … logged her first hat trick in the same game … scored goals in 11 games this season, including a run of five games in a row with at least one goal (3/15-3/24) … scored multiple goals on five occasions.

High School: Lettered in three seasons for coach Elaine Lunberg at Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orland, Fla. … finished 2012 with 40 goals and 30 assists and was the team’s leading scorer … finished near the top in steals as well with 45 … also a four-year letterwinner for the swim team … member of the Serpents, Hurricanes and Blue Dolphins club water polo teams … named Rookie of the Year in 2010, Most Aggressive Player in 2011 and Most Valuable Player in 2012 … served as a team captain in 2012 … junior Olympic qualifier, helping her team claim first at the Sunshine State games.
