CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Hannah Dickinson finished fifth in the 1,500-meters, leading a small contingent of Keydets in action on day one of the Charlotte Invitational, contested Friday at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Dickinson set a new personal best by nearly three seconds, crossing the line in 4:42.63 to finish fifth overall.
Other results included Mary Grace Lemon finishing sixth in the hammer (50.15 M/164'6"), one spot ahead of Logan Edwards (46.81 M/153'7").
Blake Condrey was eighth in the men's hammer (43.15 M/141'7"), freshman Donovan Walton was seventh in the javelin (47.75 M/156'8") and Sean Helmke led three Keydets in the men's 1,500-meters, finishing ninth in 4:01.67.
VMI track and field will return to action Saturday, as the team wraps up action at the Charlotte Invitational. Action gets underway at 11 a.m.
