LEWISBURG, Pa. - In its final non-conference match of the 2013-14 season, the Virginia Military Institute wrestling team fell 36-9 to host Bucknell University Saturday afternoon at Davis Gym. The Keydets collected wins at 141 and 165 pounds during the dual match.

VMI (3-15) picked up six points at 141 pounds as Caleb Yost had his hand raised for a forfeit. Three bouts later, Mark Darr claimed victory in the most exciting match of the day, besting Rustin Barrick 6-4 in overtime.

The Bison (9-11) picked up wins in eight of the bouts, including five that included bonus points. Bucknell won the final two bouts of the day by fall, while take tech falls at 125, 149 and 174 pounds.

At 184 pounds, Keydet Hardy Hendren gave his Bison opponent everything he had, but was edged 4-3 in the end.

In the 133 pound bout, VMI's Mike Flora scored an escape, but the single point was not enough as Bucknell's Bob Hauser went on to take a 4-1 win.

VMI concludes its regular season at The Thunderdome next Sunday when it takes on Southern Conference rival University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Match time is set for 2 p.m. at Cocke Hall.
