CHARLOTTE, N.C. - VMI righthander T.J. Lighton has been named the Big South Crons Brand Pitcher of the Week, according to information released by the conference Monday. Lighton becomes the first Keydet to earn conference pitcher of the week honors since current Student Assistant Coach Michael Devine did so on April 12, 2010.

Lighton earned the honor on the strength of his complete game shutout March 26 at Virginia Tech, during which he scattered six hits and did not walk a batter. No Hokie reached second base against Lighton until the eighth inning in VMI's first complete game shutout since 2006.

Keydet baseball returns to action Tuesday night, playing host to James Madison at 5 p.m.
