NORFOLK, Va. – VMI Baseball closed out its road swing with a victory over Norfolk State on Tuesday evening at Marty L. Miller Field.
The Keydets (25-11, 2-7 SoCon) get back in the win column with an 8-4 triumph over the Spartans (12-21, 9-9 NEC). VMI has won 25 games in each of
Sam Roberts' four seasons, a feat that has only been accomplished once in the 2005-08 campaigns.

Scoring Summary
Second Inning: NSU put up two runs.
Third Inning: The Keydets knotted it up at two apiece after Prince tripled and Garner hit a sacrifice fly for two runs.
Fourth Inning: A
Gabe Jenkins RBI and Jordan RBI single plated two more, doubling up the Spartans, 4-2. However, NSU was able to get one back off a home run, making it 4-3.
Sixth Inning: Prince drove in another run after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. But once again, the Spartans retaliated with another run to keep it a one-run game.
Seventh Inning: The Keydets extended their lead to two after Fitzwater smashed a solo shot to right field.
Eighth Inning: Garner doubled in another run to make it 7-4.
Ninth Inning: Rounding out the scoring run was
JW Kohlmeyer with an RBI single.
