Biography

Came to the team as a walk-on in spring ball...worked out with the defensive backfield...a former member of the VMI wrestling program...hard-worker who has shown a willingness to learn the game.

2006 - Did not play. Joined the team in spring semester, 2007.

HIGH SCHOOL - A graduate of Laney High School in Wilmington, N.C....two-year letterwinner as a noseguard...served as captain of the special teams unit...collected seven sacks as a senior...an accomplished wrestler, went 179-43 in his four years competing for Laney, setting new school and county records, as did his 108 career falls...three-time placewinner at State Championships...also lettered while running cross country...four-time academic All-State honoree.

PERSONAL - Full name is Tanner Houston Sewell...Father Alan wrestled for Chowan (1979-81)...International Studies major.
