George Handler

George Handler, who graduated from VMI in 2009 and was an all-conference lineman for the Keydets, will serve as the VMI tight ends coach for the fourth season.

Handler was selected first team All-Big South in 2009 after the Keydets led the nation (FCS) in rushing for the second straight year and the Big South for the fourth consecutive year.

In 2008, Handler was second among all down linemen in knockdowns with 49.

Handler was a four-year starter who played every position on the offensive line and made 41 consecutive career starts. He was also selected 2008 Second Team All-Big South and 2009 Preseason All-Big South selection at offensive line.

Handler graduated from VMI in December, 2009 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was named to the 2008-09 Big South Presidential Honor Roll.

Handler is a native of Quinton, Va. He and his wife, Megan, were married in June 2013.
