LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Men's soccer begins their 2026 campaign with three games this upcoming weekend against Elon, Regent, and Presbyterian.
The Keydets are coming off a 3-12-3 season that saw them break a 23-year conference victory drought. Senior captain Jesse Lee, who led the team with four assists last season, will take charge of the Keydet attack in 2026.
VMI will play Elon on Thursday in North Carolina. The Phoenix finished last season with a 9-3-7 mark, finishing unbeaten at home. Elon won their conference tournament before falling in the NCAA Tournament to SoCon foe UNCG on penalties.
On Saturday, the Keydets take on Regent at home. The Royals finished 2025 with a 4-13-1 record, placing sixth in their conference.
VMI rounds out the weekend by doing battle with the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Monday at Patchin Field. Presbyterian finished the 2025 season with a 7-8-5 record, losing to Gardner-Webb in the Big South Conference Tournament.
