GoH2O partners with VMI Basketball in jersey logo deal

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Director of Athletics Jamaal Walton announced Friday that the VMI Basketball program has partnered with GoH2O in a jersey sponsorship deal ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The VMI Basketball jerseys will feature a GoH2O logo patched on both its home and away uniforms.

"This landmark announcement with GoH2O amplifies the continued MOEmentum of VMI Athletics in the current NCAA landscape," Walton said. "We must pursue innovative opportunities like this that directly support the department and position VMI Athletics to thrive now and for the future. To be one of fewer than 20 schools in Division I to have a jersey patch deal shows the dedication and hard work from our department."

"Rest, Refuel and Recovery is targeted focus for VMI Athletics, and GoH2O is a company that aligns with this initiative," Walton said. "GoH2O is committed to helping the development of cadet-athletes rooted in the three-legged stool model at the Institute. We are grateful for the support of GoH2O and excited for the future of the partnership. Value Makes Impact!"

The NCAA recently announced that corporate logos are allowed to be displayed on collegiate team jerseys starting with the 2026-27 academic year.

"Jersey sponsorships are still relatively new in college athletics, so it was important for us to find a partner that truly aligns with the values we uphold at VMI," said Assistant Athletic Director for Corporate Partnerships Blake Brinkley. "Robert Hawkins (owner, GoH20) is a veteran, former basketball coach, and leader who has built GoH2O around many of the same principles that define the Institute—service, leadership, and excellence."

"This partnership goes beyond having the GoH2O logo on our jerseys," said Brinkley. "Through the installation of state-of-the-art hydration systems in our athletic facilities, GoH2O is making a direct investment in the health, performance, and overall experience of our cadet-athletes. We're proud to partner with a company that shares our commitment to developing young leaders and supporting athletic excellence. This is a unique partnership within college athletics, and we're excited to see the impact it will have on VMI for years to come."

"GoH2O is extremely excited about this partnership! VMI represents excellence in academics, athletics and military service," Hawkins said. "At GoH2O, excellence is our standard. We are honored to provide the best hydration solution for the athletes, students and staff at VMI. Smarter hydration is better for you, better for me and better for the planet."

In October 2024, GoH2O installed a filtration system in the basketball team's locker room.

Hydration is critical to health and recovery, and GoH2O is committed to providing clean water that is free from dirt, chemicals and plastic.
