GREENSBORO, N.C. – VMI Baseball dropped game two of its Southern Conference series against UNC Greensboro on Saturday at UNCG Baseball Stadium.
The Keydets (27-19, 3-11 SoCon) had momentum late after
Grayson Fitzwater clobbered a ninth-inning three-run blast, his 19th home run of the season, which set a new VMI single-season record. Despite the late surge, VMI could not catch up to the Spartans (19-28, 5-12 SoCon) in a 9-6 defeat.

Third Inning: Raile's two-RBI single tied it once again. However, UNCG regained the lead with another homer, making it 5-3.
Sixth Inning: The Spartans added one more with a single.
Seventh Inning: Three crossed the plate for UNCG, all on singles, to run the score up to 9-3.
Ninth Inning: In a late effort, Fitzwater cranked a three-run bomb to right field to cut the deficit in half.
