GREENSBORO, N.C. – VMI Baseball stumbled in the series finale to UNC Greensboro at UNCG Baseball Stadium on Sunday.
The Keydets' (27-20, 3-12 SoCon) offense posted 11 hits, but empty opportunities and fielding miscues proved costly in the 7-4 loss to the Spartans (20-28, 6-12 SoCon).

Bradley Garner went three-for-five, including two doubles and a triple, with a pair of runs scored.

Cole Raile matched his season-best hitting streak at 12 games after going two-for-three with a team-best three RBIs.

Scoring Summary
Second Inning: UNCG went up 2-0 after a pair of mistakes in the field.
Third Inning: An RBI single extended the Spartans' lead to 3-0.
Fourth Inning: Raile's sacrifice fly got VMI on the board.
Sixth Inning: The Keydets pulled within one after Jenkins drove in a run. However, the Spartans got that run back in the bottom half to hold a two-run advantage.
Seventh Inning: The second sacrifice fly from Raile got VMI back to a one-run deficit. Once again, UNCG was able to respond, this time with three unearned runs.
Ninth Inning: Offense sparked for the Keydets, starting with Garner's triple and followed by Raile's RBI single.
