LEXINGTON, Va. –
Grayson Fitzwater and
Cole Raile each hit home runs during Saturday's regular-season finale against The Citadel, but the VMI Baseball team fell to the Bulldogs by a score of 12-7 at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium.
VMI finishes the season 28-26 (3-18 SoCon) while The Citadel improves to 30-24 (11-10 SoCon).
Next up for the Keydets
Although the official bracket will be released later today, the Keydets will face the No. 5 seed (The Citadel) in the Southern Conference Championship on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. If VMI wins, they advance to the next round and would play Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., when the tournament format shifts to double elimination.
