HIGH POINT, N.C. – VMI Baseball dropped both games in Sunday's doubleheader against High Point at Williard Stadium.
The Keydets (26-17, 3-9 SoCon) were swept in their series with the Panthers (29-14, 11-4 Big South) after falling in game one, 12-6, and game two, 5-2.
Game 1 Key Stats

Game 1 Scoring Summary
First Inning: VMI jumped out to a 2-0 lead after Raile smashed his first home run of the day to left centerfield. HPU got into the scoring column, scoring on a wild pitch.
Third Inning: The Panthers took a 3-2 lead with a home run.
Fourth Inning: Raile's second blast was a solo shot to centerfield to tie it at three. Later in the inning, a Schnarrs' double put VMI back in the lead, 4-3. However, a five-run frame capped off by a grand slam put HPU back in the driver's seat, 8-4.
Fifth Inning: The Keydets cut the deficit to three with a sacrifice fly by Raile. But the Panthers scored another run off a sacrifice fly.
Eighth Inning: A bases-loaded walk drawn by
Kazuya Jordan made it 9-6, but a double and A VMI error added three to the board for HPU.
Game 2 Key Stats

Game 2 Scoring Summary
First Inning: HPU jumped out to a 2-0 advantage.
Third Inning: A home run plated two for the Panthers.
Fourth Inning: HPU capped off its scoring with a sacrifice fly, making it 5-0.
Sixth Inning: The Keydets broke the drought after Garner hit a ball on top of the left field wall that bounced back into play, but allowed Prince to score.
Seventh Inning: Raile scored off a groundout.
