LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Baseball suffered a loss in game two of the series to Western Carolina on Saturday at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium.
The Keydets (26-12, 3-8 SoCon) were run-ruled by the Catamounts (25-15, 7-4 SoCon), who built on last night's rally with an 18-5 final, to tie the series.

Scoring Summary
First Inning: Despite WCU plating one early, VMI returned with a pair of runs off at-bats from Raile and
Seth Buchanan.
Second Inning: The Catamounts scored three, with VMI getting one back with a Prince double to keep the deficit to just one.
Third Inning: A sacrifice fly and a big fly plated three more for WCU.
Fourth Inning: Four more touched home to add to the Catamounts' lead, 11-3.
Sixth Inning: After getting a scoreless frame, VMI surrendered another blast to go down 13-3. However, Raile answered with his own home run, a solo shot to right field. Later in the inning,
Cole Cook stole home to make it 13-5.
Seventh Inning: Multiple bases-loaded situations allowed WCU to extend its lead and force the mercy rule.
