FREDERICK, Md. – The VMI Water Polo Team opened up Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on Friday night, battling tough but falling at Mount St. Mary's.

- The Mount scored the first four goals of the contest, but VMI was able to cut the deficit to three after one period
