LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Swimming & Diving will have a strong core compete at the Virginia Tech Invitational this weekend in Christiansburg, Virginia.
Prelims are set for 10 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with finals for Friday and Saturday starting at 6 p.m., and finals for Sunday beginning at 4 p.m.
14 Keydets will make the trip to the invitational, including freshmen standouts
Ian Lutz and
Lacy Delzell. Lutz, who will compete in the 100 Back and 100 Free, holds the sixth-fastest time in the 100 Free among America East competitors. Delzell, who is set to swim in the 100 Free and 400 IM, has broken two freestyle records and was in three record-breaking relay teams.
Returning to the Virginia Tech Invitational with unfinished business is
Jack Mills, who shattered two Rat records in the invite last season. This year, Mills will compete in the 100 Free and 400 IM.
Parker Belle Fogle is another name to keep an eye on, as she earned three top-10 times in the invite last season and is looking to add more in the 100 Breast and 200 IM.
As a team, the men have officially earned a winning record for the second-straight season, going 4-3, with the women earning a victory over an NCAA Division-I team for two-straight years after defeating Saint Francis in January.
