The Keydets (4-7, 0-4 SoCon) are eyeing their first league victory after a tough five-dual stretch against challenging opponents. VMI faces Campbell in its final home dual of the season, hoping to win its first against the Fighting Camels since 2015, before heading down to Boiling Springs, North Carolina, for a bout against the Runnin' Bulldogs, who are coming off a big upset over Bellarmine last week.
VMI will honor its five seniors –
Tony Burke,
Ray Cmil,
Dyson Dunham,
Nate Shippey,
Ryan Vigil – before the first match against Campbell.
Four Keydets picked up bout wins last weekend, with three being major decisions. 141-pounder
Dyson Dunham boasts a 2-1 league record after earning a major against Davidson.
Ryan Vigil earned his first SoCon victory at 165 pounds against the Wildcats. VMI hopes to see
Patrick Jordon return to the lineup at 149 pounds, as he leads the team with 26 dual points and four pins.
Campbell is looking to snap its conference skid, losing its last five league duals, with its last outing being a 47-0 shutout against Chattanooga. Gardner-Webb has a pair of conference wins, including one over Campbell. The Bulldogs are coming off a massive road win over Bellarmine, and are set to face Presbyterian Thursday night before hosting the Keydets.
