LEXINGTON, Va. – After Securing their first victory of the 2025 season, VMI Football returns to the road Saturday as they travel to Lewisburg to take on recent rival Bucknell.
THE SERIES
- VMI and Bucknell have become familiar foes, with Saturday being the eighth meeting in the last 13 years and fourth consecutive season in which they have squared off
- VMI last scored a win in 2022 when the Keydets were victorious 24-14 in Lexington
- The last two losses were both one-possession games
BUCKNELL BITES
- The Bison, who were picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League preseason poll, are 1-1 on the young season
- Bucknell opened up against a service academy, falling to Air Force 49-13 but defeating Marist 34-23 with four rushing touchdowns

th-year quarterback Ralph Rucker IV was selected the Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year after claiming the honor in 2024
- Rucker has thrown for five touchdowns combined in the last two wins over VMI
