LEXINGTON, Va. – After Securing their first victory of the 2025 season, VMI Football returns to the road Saturday as they travel to Lewisburg to take on recent rival Bucknell.  THE SERIES
- VMI and Bucknell have become familiar foes, with Saturday being the eighth meeting in the last 13 years and fourth consecutive season in which they have squared off
- VMI last scored a win in 2022 when the Keydets were victorious 24-14 in Lexington
- The last two losses were both one-possession games  

BUCKNELL BITES
- The Bison, who were picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League preseason poll, are 1-1 on the young season
- Bucknell opened up against a service academy, falling to Air Force 49-13 but defeating Marist 34-23 with four rushing touchdowns
- 5^th-year quarterback Ralph Rucker IV was selected the Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year after claiming the honor in 2024
- Rucker has thrown for five touchdowns combined in the last two wins over VMI
- Terrian Williams II leads Bucknell with 19.0 tackles and had 13.0 against Marist

- Keydets total 400 yards of offense, 176 rushing yards in 42-7 victory over Ferrum
- Collin Shannon throws for 223 yards and three touchdowns
- Owen Sweeney (63 yards) found the end zone for the second consecutive game, taking a 52-yarder to the house
- Malik McNeely hauls in first career touchdown, totals 81 yards on four catches; Morgan McPhaul has five-yard score
- Noah Grevious registers first career touchdown with 78-yard end-around; Isaiah Grevious forces a fumble
- Steven Riveros, Stephen Dean III each record 5.0 stops while Kouri Crump blocks a punt
- Donovan Burnett (5.0 tackles) forces fumble, picked up by Anthony Allen for a touchdown
- Leo Boehling (41), Aslin Shipe (40) set career-highs in rushing yards
- Ben Shrewsbury punts four times for an average of 54.8 yards per kick
