LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Baseball dropped both games of the home finale doubleheader against East Tennessee State on Sunday afternoon at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium.
The Keydets (26-23, 5-13 SoCon) suffered a 6-3 loss in game one before faltering in game two, 12-6. Game one was resumed after weather forced a postponement during the fourth inning on Saturday.
Game 1 Key Stats
- VMI scored three runs off nine hits with three RBIs.

Bradley Garner had a stellar outing, going four for five with two runs and a stolen base, including a double and a home run.

- ETSU slowly inched back into the conversation, scoring two in the fifth and two more in the seventh, to tie it at four.
- VMI went up by two after Raile's clutch home run in the seventh inning.
- However, the Bucs surged with eight unanswered runs.

The Keydets will take a week off before their next series against Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The VMI-Wofford series begins Wednesday, May 14, and will roll through Friday, May 16. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
