Keydets come up short against Terriers

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – VMI Baseball suffered a series-opening loss to Wofford at Russell C. King Field Wednesday night.
 
The Keydets (26-24, 5-14 SoCon) were downed by the Terriers, 8-7, in a tight duel. VMI has dropped nine straight Southern Conference matchups, but can still move up in the standings with a pair of bounce-back wins this week.
 
 
Key Stats
- VMI posted seven runs on nine hits with seven RBIs.
- The Keydets drew six walks and stole four bags.
- Owen Prince and Bradley Garner each tallied two hits, two RBIs, and one run.
- Kazuya Jordan swiped a pair of bases to move into fourth all-time in VMI history with 76 steals.
- In 4.1 innings of relief, Nathan Hawley struck out three and allowed no earned runs.
- Cole Raile slammed his 13th home run of the season.
