Keydets’ eighth inning surge not enough in Thursday’s loss

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – VMI Baseball suffered its second-straight one-run loss against Wofford at Russell C. King Field Thursday evening.
 
The Keydets (26-25, 5-15 SoCon) took the lead after a four-run eighth inning, but the Terriers rebounded with a pair of runs to recapture the lead and seal the game. With the loss, VMI is set as the eighth seed in the upcoming Southern Conference Championship.

- VMI scored six runs on 10 hits with five RBIs.
- Owen Prince went three for five at the plate with one run and a stolen base.
- Boston Torres tallied a pair of hits, including a run and an RBI.
- Bradley Garner and Cole Raile tallied solo home runs.
- Andrew Jones tossed a flawless five innings in relief, striking out six and allowing just one hit and no runs.
- Also earning RBI hits were Ryan Peterson and Seth Buchanan.
