VMI’s offense ignites in season finale against Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – VMI Baseball capped off the 2025 regular season with a 15-6 win over Wofford at Russell C. King Field Friday afternoon.
 
The Keydets (27-25, 6-15 SoCon) put up stellar offensive numbers to storm past the Terriers, snapping a 10-game conference skid. With the win, VMI is guaranteed a winning record for the first time since 2014. This marks the third-straight season for head coach Sam Roberts and company with 25 or more wins, the first time in 17 seasons.
 
 
Key Stats
- VMI posted 15 runs off a season-high 24 hits, the most in a game since 2023 and just one shy of the single-game record.
- Every Keydet had multiple hits, with five earning three or more hits.
- Bradley Garner recorded four hits with two home runs, a double, three RBIs, and four runs.
- Garner extends his hitting streak to 10 games and his on-base streak to 28 games.
- Owen Prince, Boston Torres, Ryan Peterson, and Kazuya Jordan each tallied three hits.
- Peterson earned three RBIs with Torres and Prince having two apiece.
- Max Perry had two hits, two runs, and two RBIs.
- Grayson Fitzwater had two hits, two runs, and an RBI, while Ayden Schnarrs earned two hits with a run.

- The Keydets jumped out to a 2-0 lead after Garner opened the game with a home run before Peterson drove in another run.

The Keydets await the conference standings to shake out on Saturday to find out their opponent in the first round of the Southern Conference Championship. VMI is set as the eighth seed and will play on Wednesday, May 21, at 3 p.m. at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina.
