LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Baseball has swept three-straight series to start 2025 after defeating Norfolk State on Sunday at Lamore Field at Gray-Minor Stadium.
The Keydets earned their 10th victory after a dominating 19-8 outing against the Spartans. VMI has had six games decided by the run-rule and has scored double-digits in all 10 wins.

- VMI had 19 runs off 16 hits with 17 RBIs.
- All nine Keydets reached base safely while eight of the nine earned at least one hit.

- The Keydets rallied in the bottom half of the inning after a Spartans' error and a single by Perry made it 7-4.
- In the fourth inning, Norfolk State knotted it up again, 7-7.
- Despite the rally, VMI went full force starting with a solo shot by Raile then a two-RBI single by Peterson to put the Keydets up, 10-7.
- VMI came back with a six spot in the fifth inning, kicking off the inning with a Jordan solo homer to center field before Raile clobbered his second home run of the day, this one with two on base.
- The Keydets continued with another RBI single by Peterson and a sacrifice bunt by Perry to run the score up to 16-7.
- Another Torres RBI and Newsome single to the alley gave VMI its season-high 19th run of the game.

The Keydets continue the homestand next weekend against Holy Cross. VMI will host the Crusaders for a four-game series starting Friday. All games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
