The Bulldogs built a 10-point lead with five minutes left in the opening half before the Keydets quickly brought the deficit to two at 35-33 with just over three minutes before the half following a TJ Johnson three and Jaylen Pazon basket. Samford would go into the halftime break with a 45-38 advantage.
