Keydets to face Buffalo, Bowling Green at Fort Myers Tip-Off

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The VMI basketball team will compete in the Fort Myers Tip-Off Monday and Wednesday at Suncoast Credit Union Arena as part of the Palms Division of the annual tournament held in Fort Myers, Florida.
 
The Keydets will face two foes from the MAC starting with Buffalo Monday at 2:30 p.m. before taking on Bowling Green Wednesday at 11 a.m. Both games will be streamed (subscription required) on PassThaBallLive.com.
 
VMI has never faced either school in program history.
 
The Keydets looks to get back in the win column after recent defeats to Jacksonville, Richmond and Stetson over the past 10 days.

About the Buffalo Bulls (5-0)
The Bulls look to continue their unbeaten streak in the early part of the season after an unblemished 5-0 start to the 2025-26 campaign.  Buffalo has defeated Southern Miss, Green Bay, DePaul, RIT and most recently beat Vermont by a close 94-90 score in Buffalo.
 
Daniel Freitag leads the team averaging 21.0 points per game while Ryan Sabol isn't far behind at 15.6 points per contest. Noah Batchelor is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game to lead the Bulls while Angelo Brizzi leads the team with nine steals through five games.
 
About Bowling Green (3-2)
The Falcons got off to a hot start to the season with three straight wins over Texas State on November 3 before claiming home wins over Bethany College and Le Moyne. BGSU is coming off two straight defeats to Davidson by a close 87-91 score and most recently to William & Mary last Wednesday by a 74-82 count.
 
Bowling Green will face Bucknell Monday afternoon before taking on VMI Wednesday morning.
 
Javontae Campbell leads the Falcons with 20.0 points per game while Josiah Shackelford is close behind at 14.6 ppg. Justin Thomas directs the offense  and has logged 20 assists over their five games thus far.
