LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI Water Polo Team opened its 2025 season on Friday evening at the VMI Aquatic Center, holding on for a 13-12 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues, giving the Keydets their first season-opening win since 2020.
Coming off a 13-0 fall in which they claimed the National Collegiate Water Polo gold on December 1, the Varsity Blues gave VMI all they could handle, but the Keydets would get a key save from
Ysabel Casillas late to help secure the win.
