Box Score 2 PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The VMI Water Polo team closed out the 2024 regular season on Saturday in Philadelphia, dropping a pair of contests 22-11 to host La Salle and No. 18 Wagner.
Against the Explorers, VMI could not climb out of a big deficit established early, while they tested Wagner all the way until the fourth quarter.

- Wagner would jump out to a 7-1 lead, but the Keydets locked in and cut the deficit to three at half (7-4)
- VMI continued to gain ground in the third as Osborne found Novotny to make the score 10-8 entering the fourth
- Novotny and VMI opened up the fourth with a score as Wagner was on upset alert, but the depth of the Seahawks would ultimately prevail as they scored eight unanswered

While the 2024 season may be over, VMI was able to record its most wins since 2021 (5-19). Numerous Keydets totaled career-highs including Novotny (goals scored) and Osborne (assists).
While VMI will miss the graduating Osborne, the Keydets will return eight of nine from its 2024 roster, with Head Coach
Danielle Montenegro set to add a strong recruiting class for the 2025 campaign.
