BATON ROUGE, La. – Day two of the College baseball season is in the books, as the VMI Keydets battled to 11 innings with Central Arkansas, ultimately falling to the Bears 4-3.
VMI is now 1-2 on the young season, and finishes off the weekend Sunday against host LSU.

How it Happened
- The two sides were scoreless through two, when Owen Prince and Justin Starke reached base, setting the table for a Fitzwater two-RBI single (2-0 VMI) in the bottom of the 3rd
- The Bears battled back in the 5th, with a pair of walks leading to two runs for Central Arkansas
- In the bottom half of the inning, Starke would reach base and ultimately be brought home by a wild pitch (3-2 VMI)
- Central Arkansas responded in the top of the 6th, as a sacrifice fly evened the score at 3-3
- Neither team threatened in the 7th, but in the 8th Central Arkansas worked a base runner to third before Van Alstine induced an inning-ending grounder
- The two sides went three up, three down in the ninth and sent four batters to plate apiece in the 10th, before the Bears broke through with the winning run in the 11th
