Keydets fall just short in rally against Queens

LEXINGTON, Va. – Down 46-33 at halftime, the VMI basketball team made a furious comeback but fell just short in the end as visiting Queens University (N.C.) prevailed by an 81-78 score Saturday afternoon at Cameron Hall.
 
VMI falls to 5-6 on the season while the Royals improve to 4-5 with the win.
 
Game Summary
*Augustinas Kiudulas kept VMI in the fight in the opening half by logging 15 points on three treys and a pair of field goals to account for nearly half of VMI's 33 first-half points.
*VMI won the second half by tallying 45 points while holding Queens to 35 in its comeback attempt
*The Keydets pulled within four points at the 16:29 mark of the second half and within one point six different times during the final six minutes but could never quite pull ahead as the game featured zero lead changes
 

 
Key Stats
* Robert Peters registered seven points in the opening half and finished the game with a career-high 12 points
*Rickey Bradley earned a game-high 19 points – just three shy of his season high -  as he converted 12 of 14 free throws on the day
*TJ Johnson logged 17 points, while Kiudulas (15),  and Peters (12) also finished in double figures
*Leo Colmerio led the Royals with 15 points on the day while Jaxon Pollard (13), Yoav Berman (12) and Malcolm Wilson (10) also had double digits in scoring
