Keydets top Regent for sixth win of season

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI basketball team got ahead early and never looked back en route to a 100-61 win over visiting Regent University Thursday night in the final non-conference home game of the season.
 
With the victory, VMI improves to 6-6 on the year while the Royals fall to 1-8.
 

 
Game Summary
VMI pulled ahead 16-5 by the first media timeout of the game – including treys by Linus Holmstrom, Cal Liston and Rickey Bradley - and never relinquished the advantage by cruising to a 54-28 lead at halftime.
 
The Keydets earned their biggest lead of the contest with a little over three minutes left in regulation at 43 points as VMI earned the easy win over its final non-Division I opponent of the season.

*Freshman center Kaden Stuckey earned his first career double-double by tallying 11 points and 10 rebounds throughout the game
*In his second start of the year, sophomore Robert Peters nearly achieved his first career double-double by logging 10 points to go with nine boards in 27 minutes of action
*Sophomore guard AJ Clark earned a career-high 10 rebounds on the night, topping his previous best of seven set last season at Furman (2/14/24)
*Freshman guard Linus Holmstrom logged a season-high 17 points during the game, while fellow freshman Cal Liston earned a season-best 10 points
