LEXINGTON, Va. – In a physical battle, VMI Men's Soccer was shut out by preseason favorite Mercer at Patchin Field Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.
 
Despite the 3-0 score, the Keydets (4-6-2, 0-2-0 SoCon) kept pace with the Bears (5-2-5, 1-0-1 SoCon), showing a valiant effort in Southern Conference play. VMI continues the homestand on Wednesday when the Keydets host Mary Baldwin with a 4 p.m. kickoff.

- Keydets posted 11 shots in comparison to the Bears' 14 shots.
- Zack Murphy made six saves including a pivotal penalty kick save.
- VMI and Mercer each had five corner kicks.
