VMI heads to Charleston to face The Citadel

LEXINGTON, Va. – A week after a hard-fought match at home against Chattanooga to open league dual action, the VMI wrestling team hits the road for its first away SoCon match of the year to face rival The Citadel Sunday at 2 p.m. in Charleston, South Carolina.

VMI (6-6, 0-1) won four of the remaining nine bouts against Chattanooga after forfeiting at 125 pounds this past Sunday. The Keydets fell by a 31-13 tally but won three of the final four bouts on the day to finish with momentum heading into this weekend's battle with The Citadel.

The Bulldogs (8-3, 0-1) enter Sunday's match equally hungry coming off a 33-4 loss to SoCon power Appalachian State last Sunday. This season, the Bulldogs have wins over the likes of Brown, Queens, Duke, Clarion and Millersville.
