BOSTON, Mass. – The America East Conference named its Swimmer's and Divers of the Week on Tuesday, with VMI's Ethan Griffith earning the Co-Male Swimmer of the Week Award after his performance in Saturday's meet at American.
Griffith becomes the first Keydet to be named America East Male Swimmer of the Week since Jack Sheehan in 2020.
"We are thrilled Ethan's performances were recognized by the America East," said VMI Swimming and Diving Head Coach Scott Thacker. "We are part of a deep conference full of talented student-athletes, and for him to be recognized as one of the top performers las week is a great honor for him and our program."
Giffith, a junior, had a standout afternoon, winning both the 200 breaststroke and the 400-yard IM. The Charleston native clocked in with a time of 2:08.78 in the breaststroke which paced the field by over three seconds, and 4:14.53 in the 400 IM winning the event by nearly five seconds.
Griffith, who also swam on the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay, helped the VMI Men's squad total 135 points in a competitive meet at American.
