Macon, Ga. – Mercer University defeated the VMI men's soccer team 5-1 Saturday afternoon in the Southern Conference opener for both teams in Betts Stadium.
Mercer led 3-0 early in the second half when VMI earned a corner kick.
Conner Reid scored from
Viktor Petrusevski at 50:06 to bring the Keydets back to within two.
