STAUNTON, Va. – The VMI men's soccer team netted the most goals for the program in 19 years Tuesday in a 5-1 win at Mary Baldwin University on SMA Worth Field. The Keydets scored five against Averett in the 2004 campaign in an identical 5-1 victory.
With today's win, the third of the year, the Keydets have the most victories since the 2013 season with nine games remaining on the regular season schedule and at least one conference tournament contest.

Kyle Grant, this week's Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, scored twice in the first half as the Keydets opened an 4-1 lead at intermission
*Juniors
Drew Menges and
Cole Mooney also scored in the game's first 45 minutes
*After VMI had a 3-0 lead, the Fighting Squirrels got on the board with a penalty kick tally
*In the second half, senior
Warner Collier deflected in a shot from
Rider Holcomb for the game's last goal
*Mooney assisted on three goals on the day
*The Keydets had large advantages in shots (25-6) and corner kicks (12-0) and had 18 shots on goal

Zack Murphy had three saves to post his second victory of the season
*Preston Bentley made 13 saves for MBU
