LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI baseball team will continue Southern Conference play this weekend, with a three-game series at The Citadel in Joseph P. Riley Park.

Last Time:
VMI (23-22/7-7 SoCon) rallied from a 5-2 deficit to force extra innings Tuesday, but fell 6-5 to visiting William & Mary in 11 frames. The Tribe led 5-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, but a two-run home run from
Zac Morris and a solo shot from
Trey Morgan knotted the game at five. After a W&M score in the top of the 11
th inning, VMI loaded the bases in the bottom of the frames with two outs, but a fly out ended the game.
Morris was 2-3 with a walk, while Morgan and
Cole Garrett each also had two hits.
Justin Starke belted his team-leading 12
th home run in the first inning. Garrett and
Cole Jenkins doubled and Morgan tossed two scoreless innings of relief.
Last Year:
VMI took two of three from The Citadel in mid-April last year in Gray-Minor Stadium. Morgan got the win in the opener and
Brett Cook delivered a walk off home run in the second game.

The Citadel (19-22/4-8) dropped a pair of games at N.C. State last weekend and fell 8-7 at Charleston Southern on Wednesday.
Travis Lott has a team-high .345 batting average and 33 runs and 26 RBI. Thomas Rollauer is hitting .325 with 32 runs and eight stolen bases. The Bulldogs have two starting pitchers with sub 3.50 ERAs on the year, Cameron Reeves (3.39) and Sam Swygert (3.40).
