Last Time:
Samford University took two of three from VMI this weekend in Southern Conference play from Gray-Minor, but VMU rallied to win the final game 8-7 Saturday in game two of a doubleheader. The Keydet bullpen was outstanding on the day, allowing just four earned runs over 15 2/3 innings to allow for the two comebacks. The Bulldogs had two on and two outs in the top of the ninth of game two, but Marcus Van Alstine came on to record the final out and earn his first collegiate save. Freshman Derrell Fletcher-Knight tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up his first collegiate win.
