VMI Falls to Iona in Philadelphia

Box Score PHILADELPHIA – Despite trailing by just a goal after the first period, the VMI women's water polo team struggled to counter Iona College's offense in the second and third periods as the Gaels pulled away for a 22-7 win over the Keydets Friday night hosted by Villanova University.

Sydney Smith, Gia Donatelli and Sadie Smith posted goals for VMI in the first period, but the Gaels scored 12 goals over the next two periods to pull away as VMI was only allowed two goals over that time frame.
