LEXINGTON, Va. - After hosting the entire Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) at the VMI Aquatic Center last weekend. the VMI Water Polo team is back on the road this weekend, visiting Iona on Friday and Siena on Saturday.
The action will commence at 6:30 p.m. Friday and 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Iona currently sits second in the MAAC Blue Division (12-10, 4-3), while Siena is last (4-19, 0-8).
While Iona has the all-time edge in the series, VMI took down the Gaels just two years ago in New Rochelle, New York by the score of 15-14. Offensively, Iona is led by Jordan Van Reeken who has 71 goals and are anchored in net by Lily Morris.
The Keydets have fared better against Siena over the years, going 14-6 all-time including 13 of the last 14. The Saints, however, defeated VMI 11-10 in one of the two matchups last season. Parker Thomas has 40 goals on offense and Anna Mossakowski has 86 saves in net.
