LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI baseball team's weekend Southern Conference series with Mercer University in Gray-Minor Stadium has been altered due to the possibility of inclement weather. The two teams will now square off in a doubleheader Friday starting at 2 p.m., with Sunday's game staying in place for 1 p.m.

Old Dominion University scored runs in each of the first seven innings Wednesday and went on to defeat VMI 11-6 from Gray-Minor Stadium in non-conference play. The

Garrett went 2-5 with a double, a home run and a walk, one of four
Keydets to have multiple hits. Starke also tripled on the evening, while Jimmy

Kaltreider finished the game on the hill with two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and no walks with four strikeouts.
About the Bears:
Mercer fell at Georgia State Wednesday 13-3 to drop to 24-14 on the year. The Bears sit in third place in the Southern Conference standings at 6-3, with VMI just behind in fourth at 5-3.
Eric Toth leads the offense with a .344 batting average and 11 home runs. Treyson Hughes is hitting .302 with a team-best 46 runs scored to go with nine home runs.
Starting pitcher Josh Farmer is seventh in the conference with a 4.62 ERA while Cameron Reeves is tied for fourth with 50 strikeouts.
